Now she knew what the demonic lovechild of Tessa and Jean-Philippe would be. Her shoulders rolled back and her posture righted itself as the very thought itself made her skin crawl. It also seemed like this new acquaintance was hellbent on the discussion being made in plain sight and open hearing range of the crowd that parted around them. No, Betsy was having none of that.
It was an easier mental trick; creating a bubble around them that extended the distance and a smidge more of normal earshot. It was like reading a book where you read the same line over six times and never retain it, but now anyone passing them held no recollection of the details of their conversation. There would be no key words that jumped out at them and might draw further attention to them.
“And what of it, why would it matter if my numbers are atypical or if I function at a higher level?”
Little thought is given towards those whom pass them by. Most were too simple to comprehend their current topic, and likely future discussions that they might have right there on the sidewalk. A well placed glare could put the fear of God into the hearts of most of them, at any rate, and he could hardly be bothered to worry over such trivial things now that his target was speaking to him.
“Because it’s interesting. Finding those that are higher functioning is usually a chore. They are infinitely more enjoyable to talk to than—” He motioned to their surroundings, to the people that came and went. “them. They are boring and mundane in nearly every way.” What was it like, being like them? He couldn’t remember anymore.

Niquis was conceived not long after his mother and father met. She was a noblewoman with distant family ties to Mahtan and he was an Avar. Niquis’ relationship with his parents was doomed from the beginning. His mother believed him being born with such vibrant red hair was a bad omen and that no good would come of it.
When Turgon decided to move his company south into Nevrast, his parents made the decision to leave him behind with the chief of the tribe and to return for him when he was older and easier to travel with. They never returned. Instead, he was raised as the chief’s son, though he was more of a pawn than anything. His blood and his mother’s ( though small ) nobility was used for trading with the Noldor.
Then she came to Niquis, from the winter winds and blinding snow. A wolf larger than any of the white bears that roamed the region, one large enough for a mount. Nixiê, he called her. And when he was of age, she ripped out the chief’s throat and he became a prince of the northern wastelands, and he is as cold and ruthless as his domain.
Anyone who ventures near the lands of the Qualmê Helcê tribe will likely never see them. They dress in all white as camouflage. They are not entirely isolated, however. They are a curious sort, and often send scouts to go out into the world and report back findings to keep the clan safe. They may have little interaction with others because of their domain, but they are not ignorant. They are fishermen and hunters, practice strange magicks, sometimes scholars when the mood suits them, and they are deadly and do not hesitate to eliminate threats.
Name: Yulia Ivanov. Yuriy Ivanov. Alias: Tala Balkov
Codename: Winter’s Bite, White Wolf Age: 18 Location: Moscow, Russia
Position: Boss' Pet. Hitman. Righthand Man.
Background: AYulia ( Yuriy ) Ivanov was born in St. Petersburg Russia. He was the only child of Nataliya and Evgeny Ivanov, a young couple that had fallen on hard times. Evgeny was fond of the drink and couldn’t keep a job, and often used what little money Nataliya brought home to buy more alcohol rather than paying bills. He was a mean drunk and often beat his wife and child. When given the opportunity to bring in more money for his habit by being a patsy for a Russian mob boss, Evgeny jumped at the chance. Nataliya, however, had had enough. She left when Yuriy was eleven, and left him behind with his father with no promise of returning. With his mother gone and his father usually drunk or mixed up in some sort of trouble, Yuriy was left to his own devices, often simply wandering the streets and stealing food to keep himself fed.
That little routine didn’t last long, however. Evgeny slipped up because of his love for alcohol. He took money where he wasn’t supposed to, and the boss noticed. Yuriy watched as his father was executed in their rundown little apartment. But Yuriy also slipped up. He gasped in fear, and they found him, hiding behind some empty boxes. Instead of killing him too, they turned him this way and that, studying him, and laughing as he bit one hard enough to draw blood. Under all the dirt and the grime, under the greasy hair and rags, he was BEAUTIFUL, a SURVIVOR, and the boss liked that sort of thing.
All traces of Yulia Ivanov, of Yuriy Ivanov ( the name he gave himself ), disappeared as soon as Balkov got ahold of him. It was as if he never existed. Pulled from one hell and thrust into another; one darker, deeper and more ugly. He became Tala Balkov ( not in the way Balkov wished but it would have to do ), the boss’ pretty little pet and utterly ruthless right hand hitman.
Beware of the White Wolf who will gladly stain his coat red, beware of the icy chill of Winter’s Bite.
Name: Yuriy Ivanov Alias: Tala Valkov
Codename: Winter’s Bite, Winter Wolf Age: 16 Location: unknown
Abilities: accelerated healing, advanced genetics, super computer-like brain, advanced senses.
Specialties: hacking, assassination, intel gathering and storing.
Affiliates: formerly Hydra. gone rogue.
Background: After his mother abandoned the family, Tala turned to the streets in order to survive, until his father gave him up ( after being bribed ) to an abbey which was a front for a Hydra base. Tala was trained as a child solider, then later genetically advanced and cybertized. Once the abbey base was destroyed, Tala slipped away from the rubble and has been at large ever since.
Name: Yuriy Ivanov Alias: Tala Valkov Age: 16 Location: unknown
Abilities: Water Bender
Specialties: Ice. Similar to bloodbending, Tala can make things freeze by using the water molecules around them.
Background: Tala was born in the Northern Water Tribe, in a village outside of the main city. His parents were young and unprepared for a child. His father struggled to find work in the main city and often took his frustrations out on Tala and his mother. His mother went to fish one day and never returned home, either lost to the ice and sea or having abandoned her husband and child to seek a better life for herself elsewhere. This left Tala alone with a man whom cared little for his well being, and saw him and his abilities as something he could use to better himself and his standing. Evgeny believed that in a world ruled by the fire nation, he would have a better standing, that the old elite would be torn down to give rise to a new elite, and that if he played his cards right, he would be a part of it. When Tala was six, for money and for standing, Evgeny sold him off to a man by the name of Balkov and left him in the Fire Nation. Balkov, however, had no intentions of paying Evgeny and had him assassinated.
Tala is a calculating bender, and agressive when he sees the oppertunity to strike. He relies on strategy when fighting, and endurance. Tala's personality is much like his element; cold, harsh and ruthless. Many have learned that nothing burns like the cold.
He lives in a gilded cage, surrounded by black red and gold, when he longs for the white, blue and silver of his childhood.

Many times he feels like he's the worst so he always acts like he's the best. Despite being beautiful, he isn't vain, and he is far stronger than he looks, both physically and mentally. He is deadly, and when pushed he's not afraid to show it. Yuriy is incredibly smart and calculating, even so, he sometimes fails to add emotions into those calculations. He can be a bit obnoxious when he wants to be, and have a 'holier than thou' air about him. Deep, deep inside his icy heart, he does care about certain things and certain people, even begrudgingly.
biography
Yuriy came to the abbey at a young age. His father was an abusive drunk, which led to his mother abandoning the family. He never saw her again, nor tried to look for her once freed from Balkov's grasp. With his mother gone, he was forced to go out and find food for himself and his father. On the streets is where he met Boris ( Bryan ) Kuznetsov. Together they were a force to be reckoned with. One would play as the distraction while the other would snatch the food and run. They were inseperable, even on the day they were caught by the police. Neither would give up the other. Luckily, or unluckily as it soon came to be, Balkov offered them a way out. Come to the abbey and train and all of this would be forgotten.
Too trusting for his own good, and too eager to get out of his current situation, Yuriy accepted readily. His father was paid off to never speak of him again and to sign him over to Balkov. The horrors that Yuriy faced at the abbey were far greater than any he had faced at home or on the streets. He was trained as a child soldier, experimented on and put through emotional and psychological trauma. Nevertheless he kept close to Boris, Sergei and Ian, and even Kai. They were as close of a thing to family as any of them had, and their bond, despite their differences and occasional in-fighting, was unshakeable. The experiments only grew worse as Yuriy grew older, culminating in his cybertization during the World Championships against the Bladebreakers.
After those championships, the Demolition Boys were free, and laid low for a year as they were reconditioned to rejoin normal society. It was difficult for Yuriy, knowing he was different because of the cybertization and having to try and be 'normal'. He began to rely less on his chip, fiddling and fixing things Balkov had implemented until he was more like he once was and less like a program. Always cybertized, but never again Cyber-Tala.
